Jasmine Rodgers is a singer/songwriter and musician based in London. Her music is described as Indie/Folk, but that label hardly does it justice.
“Dark Tides” follows up her critically acclaimed 2019 release “Blood Red Sun”, as superb as an album that is, this mini album, running under at under half an hour, which is my only gripe, is a much superior and polished affair.
It’s a breathtaking album, captivating and brim full of emotion with Jasmine navigating her way through turbulent waters. Her strong clear vocals convey both song and story with a haunting honesty, drawing the listener into each peak and trough, riding each wave together.
Danny Keane with his immaculate performance on the cello serves to enhance the overall musical soundscape adding that piece of class taking the recording to near perfection.
