Lewis Barfoot is an anglo Irish contemporary Folk singer/songwriter now living in Cork, Ireland and with “Glenaphuca” she brings us her debut long player.
It’s a superb album, already garnering much acclaim, in which she recaptures her ancestors past hardships of 19th century Ireland as well as acting as a salve for the loss of her Mother and a celebration of the cycle of life.
Lewis’s vocals are clear and strong purveying evocative images and heartfelt emotions and musically, with the help of a host of excellent musicians, the record manages to marry old Folk with the new contemporary sound, the sound that seems to be attracting more and more young artists to the genre which can only be for the good of Folk and acoustic music.
