Nettlebone is an English Folk band primarily made up of two Brothers, Dominic and Justin Forrest, but they are more than ably assisted by Jude Rees and Jon Loomes.

“Revel and Rhyme” is classed as a concept album.  It compares history to the current day and how little has really changed… Those in power have always look to and always will seek to exploit the little person, regardless of the consequenses.

However, the narrative does emphasise the importance of persistantly fighting for ones rights and gives thanks to those who have gone before us and strived for a  better life.

This self composed debut long player is a most beguiling recording with tremendous harmonies from the guys, but the addition of Jude Rees’s on vocal duty is the icing on the cake.

Musically, the use of traditional instruments such as English bagpipes, Hurdy-Gurdy, shawms, crumhorn and recorder make for a very atmospheric old England style soundscape.
