I am constantly reminded whilst writing these blogs of how much talent there is out there on the British Folk scene alone and even more striking’s the amount of young people involved and here is another such artist:

Lilian, full name Lilian Grace, is an English Folk singer/songwriter, who graduated from Leeds Conservatoire, where she specialised in unaccompanied traditional English Folk song.

Her debut album features ten re-workings of traditional songs, as well as two original self penned compositions.

Pareidolia is the tendency to perceive meaningful images in random patterns, such as seeing faces in clouds, or inkblots.  The album explores this theme through dark and atmospheric songs that tap into the spirit and history of the genre.

Guest musicians such as Sam Brown on fiddle, Forbes Legato on strings and Aoife Foxley on hurdy-gurdy all in turn serve to enhance the overall quality of the recording.

Lilian’s pure haunting vocals draw the listener in to each piece of folklore, demonstrating her keen appreciation for tradition and gives us reassurance that another talented youngster is doing their best to uphold the future for our beloved Folk tales.
